Protecting your safety and privacy
txtbuddies includes a number of key features designed to protect your online safety and your mobile phone identity.
Spam prevention
txtbuddies is a Community Network. Unless you are an opt-in subscriber (and hold 'blue buddy') status, a fellow Community member will not be able to send you a TXT message.

Sender Identity
Every txtbuddies message carries the phone number of the sender as the Sender ID. We identify this number by sending an activation code to this number during our registration process.
Only Community Members who have successfully activated their mobile phone number on the txtbuddies Network can use our service.
And if you change your mobile phone number, txtbuddies includes the option to change your number within your account settings. After you make this change, txtbuddies will automatically issue another activation code number to enter against this new profile.

Easy Opt-out
We have made it easy to opt-out or opt-in to the txtbuddies Community Network. Selecting opt-out in your Account Settings will instantly block other subscribers from sending you a TXT message across the txtbuddies Community Network.
Your 'Blue Buddy' will also show an opt-out symbol wherever your identity appears on a Contacts list.
Deselecting the opt-out option in Account Settings will restore your accessibility status and remove the opt-out symbol against your 'Blue Buddy'.
